Who is the course for?
The SSSTS refresher course is a 1-day refresher of the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course. Some of the people taking this refresher course took the full course with us years ago, but anyone is welcome to learn with us! We work with a wide range of delegates, and tailor our training to suit the needs of each person learning with us.
What does the course include?
SSSTS refresher courses are necessary because they help to refresh your knowledge of site safety, health, welfare and the environment. You’ll cover laws relating to these, along with how your own responsibilities on site relate to them. Our SSSTS refresher course includes the following:
- How health and safety laws are structured
- How the supervisory role aligns with the manager’s role on site
- Explaining the need for method statements
- Construction site health, safety and welfare
- Effective communication routes within site activity
- Behavioural safety on site
- Supervision of occupational health
This course is a great chance to refresh your knowledge, and also examine any new health and safety developments. The laws surrounding construction site health and safety are constantly evolving to better protect people on site, and it’s vital that you know what has changed. This course is highly interactive, and is delivered using case studies, classroom discussion, working in groups, and individual or group presentations. You’ll need to attend the whole day to be eligible to take the test at the end of the course. If you pass it, then you will have an SSSTS certificate for the next five years!

Overview
If you have supervisory responsibilities or are going to take them on, this CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training (SSSTS) is for you. You will gain the skills to understand health and safety threats and fulfil your legal responsibilities by mitigating those risks after finishing our CITB SSSTS training.

Requirements
All candidates must possess a good understanding of reading, speaking and writing English. This course will be carried out in English and as such, it is important that candidates can communicate in English.
Assessments & Renewals
Assessment:
The SSSTS Refresher course must be attended in full for 1 day. The exam for the SSSTS Refresher training is multiple choice with written answers as well.
In order to pass the SSSTS Refresher, candidates must achieve 80% in their exam. If candidates score less than this, they may be able to re-sit another exam subject to meeting the required marks. We offer FREE resits for candidates who need to retake the exam only.
Renewal
The SSSTS Refresher Course Certificate is valid for 5 years and can be renewed with a 1-Day refresher course to maintain the qualification for another 5 years.
