What is the course and who is it for?
The CITB SSSTS is a 2-day training course for construction professionals who wish to become Site Managers. This course is an in-depth course and demonstrates the responsibilities of a manager and how to meet the demand for good health and safety management on site. With this SSSTS course, you can keep your workforce safe on site through effective management and reduce the overall risk of accidents.
BUILD UK recognises the SSSTS training course as an industry requirement for all staff including managers, supervisors, foremen, project managers and client facing staff in order to have the most appropriate training in managing safety on site.
Renewing your certificate
Once the SSSTS Training course is completed, you will be certificated for 5 years. In order to renew your SSSTS training certificate, you will have to undergo a 1 day refresher course. This is something that we offer here, so you can complete both courses with the help of our experienced team; coming back to our training centre when the time has come for you to renew your certificate. You can expect the same warm welcome. That’s why we are the providers of SSSTS courses London trainees trust.
Alternatively, you are welcome to take the refresher course with us if you gained your initial qualification elsewhere. We’re here to help everyone!

Overview
This SSSTS training course is delivered via a virtual Zoom classroom with a qualified trainer which will enable students to complete the course at home. The course timings will remain as normal and run for 2 days. The SSSTS course timings are 9am to 5pm.
All students attending the SSSTS Online Training course must be able to access a laptop or PC to complete the course work, registration forms and test. You must also have a webcam to join the SSSTS Class.
The official CITB SSSTS course books will be provided in a digital format, allowing you to download and access them on the device of your choice.
Content
The CITB SSSTS Training course will cover the following content:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Specific site issues that challenges supervisors on a daily basis
- Effective toolbox talks
- Supervision of occupational health
- Behavioural safety
Requirements
To take part in our SSSTS courses in London, all candidates must possess a good understanding of reading, speaking and writing English. This course will be carried out in English and as such, it is important that candidates can communicate in English.
Assessments & Renewals
Assessment:
The SSSTS course must be attended in full for the 2 days. The exam for the SSSTS training is multiple choice with written answers as well.
In order to pass the SSSTS, candidates must achieve 80% in their exam. If candidates score less than this, they may be able to re-sit another exam subject to meeting the required marks. We offer FREE resits for candidates who need to retake the exam only.
Renewal
The SSSTS Course Certificate is valid for 5 years and can be renewed with a 1-Day refresher course to maintain the qualification for another 5 years.
