About the SMSTS Course
The CITB SMSTS is a 5-day training course for construction professionals who wish to become Site Managers. This course is an in-depth course and demonstrates the responsibilities of a manager and how to meet the demand for good health and safety management on site. With this SMSTS course, you can keep your workforce safe on site through effective management and reduce the overall risk of accidents.
BUILD UK recognises the SMSTS training course as an industry requirement for all staff including managers, supervisors, foremen, project managers and client facing staff in order to have the most appropriate training in managing safety on site.
Once the SMSTS Training course is completed, you will be certificated for 5 years. In order to renew your SMSTS training certificate, you will have to undergo a 2 day refresher course.

Overview
This SMSTS training course is delivered via a virtual Zoom classroom with a qualified trainer which will enable students to complete the course at home. The course timings will remain as normal and run for 5 days. The SMSTS course timings are 9am to 5pm.
All students attending the SMSTS Online Training course must be able to access a laptop or PC to complete the course work, registration forms and test. You must also have a webcam to join the SMSTS Class.
The official CITB SMSTS course books will be provided in a digital format for you to download.

Requirements
All candidates must possess a good understanding of reading, speaking and writing English. This course will be carried out in English and as such, it is important that candidates can communicate in English.
Assessments & Renewals
The SMSTS course must be attended in full for the 5 days. The exam for the SMSTS training is multiple choice with written answers as well.
In order to pass the SMSTS, candidates must achieve 81% in their exam. If candidates score less than this, they may be able to re-sit another exam subject to meeting the required marks. We offer FREE resits for candidates who need to retake the exam only.
Renewal
The SMSTS Course Certificate is valid for 5 years and can be renewed with a 2-Day refresher course to maintain the qualification for another 5 years.
